USAGE The provided file asctofax.ps Version 2.0 is used to convert text into the fax- format. It enables printing the Euro-symbol without additional customisation of your text-file. It does not affect the conversion of Postscript-, PCL- or PDF- format. Your installation already contains a file asctofax.ps that does not support the Euro-symbol. Asctofax.ps Version 2.0 creates the Euro-symbol instead of another symbol from the Courier-type. INSTALLATION It is not necessary to stop the fax-server. Eventually stop all processes that can create fax-documents. For UNIX (login comfax): Create a copy of $FAXROOT/etc/postscript/asctofax.ps. Copy the provided file asctofax.ps to $FAXROOT/etc/postscript. For Windows: The installation-directory normally is c:\FAXSERVER, if it was not set differently during the installation. Rename c:\FAXSERVER\etc\postscript\asctofax.ps. Copy the provided file asctofax.ps to c:\FAXSERVER\etc\postscript. Now you can restart the stopped processes. TEST Create a test-fax from your application. If a different symbol or nothing is printed instead of the Euro-symbol, check correct installation with the file Euro-win.txt. If the Euro-symbol is shown correctly there, the installation is correct. You have to find out the ASCII-value of your Euro-symbol now. This number you have to enter as new value into the file asctofax.ps for /europos. Default-value is 128, compatible to Windows-applications. Using the IsoLatin- set,the Euro-symbol value is 164.
