Mail Gateways: SMTP gateway and SAPconnect gateway

For integration into mail systems, PAPAGENO offers two mail gateways that can be used to connect almost all mail systems to PAPAGENO.

SMTP Gateway

If your mail server supports the Internet standard SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol), you can connect to PAPAGENO using the PAPAGENO SMTP gateway.

With a PAPAGENO SMTP gateway, you can use SMS, fax and voice-mail and access your messages by telephone.

Any SMTP-enabled product can be used as a mail server.

Any product that works with your mail server can be used as a mail client. With a PAPAGENO SMTP gateway, thousands of users can send and receive messages in their mail interfaces.

Easy to Install

The PAPAGENO SMTP gateway is installed with the current version of PAPAGENO. It is activated by entering the licence.

Formats converted by the SMTP gateway:

Common formats such as PostScript, ASCII, TIF, PCL, HTML and PDF.

If you use a directory server ...

... PAPAGENO accesses it via LDAP.

User-specific sending parameters (header, identification (TSI), sender identification, etc.) can be used because the gateway accesses this database via LDAP when sending faxes.

If IMAP4 is used in addition to LDAP, you can access all your messages stored on the mail server from any telephone. You can have e-mails and SMS messages read aloud to you, listen to voicemails, send faxes and find out the transmission time, sender, etc. of all messages.

The LDAP connection between the PAPAGENO terminal server and the directory server retrieves the user name from the user address database when the telephone greets the caller.

SAPconnect Gateway

The PAPAGENO-SAPconnect interface supports the sending and receiving of faxes, SMS messages and voice mails from all SAP ERP applications.

PAPAGENO-SAPconnect is available on Unix, Linux and Windows operating systems.

PAPAGENO is connected via SAP's internal RFC interface. The external SAPconnect interface registers with the defined SAP ERP gateway. Communication between the internal and external RFC interfaces takes place via the SAP ERP gateway. The respective external and internal interfaces are assigned via the so-called programme ID.
