If you are already using Internet telephony (using an IP PBX or a provider), you can also use voice mail, SMS, and fax services without additional hardware. (Fax can be used if the IP PBX supports T.38).

If many faxes are to be sent, however, we recommend an ISDN device (card or router), as transmission time and fax quality over the public telephone network are better.
